The Hughesville Spartans (Hughesville, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Northwest Area Rangers (Shickshinny, PA), 36-32 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Spartans (2-2) will now prepare for their test against Selinsgrove (Selinsgrove, PA). The Seals go into the non-league test with a 2-2 record. In their last test, Selinsgrove got by Bellefonte (Bellefonte, PA), 50-31, in a non-league test.
The Rangers now own a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Millville for a Mid-Penn - D4 test on Tuesday, December 13. Northwest Area will encounter a Quakers squad coming off a 50-34 non-league loss to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional (Coal Township, PA). The Quakers record now stands at 1-3.
