North Carolina High School Basketball - McDowell nips Alexander Central

December 10, 2024: Marion, NC 28752

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), observed McDowell's basketball team edge Alexander Central by a margin of 44-42.

The Titans (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against East Rutherford (Forest City, NC). The Cavaliers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, East Rutherford edged Stuart W. Cramer (Belmont, NC), 67-54, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 12. Alexander Central will attempt to better on its 2-3 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 71-58 non-league win over Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC).
