The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the La Vernia Bears (La Vernia, TX) and the visiting Southside Cardinals (San Antonio, TX), observed La Vernia's basketball team overwhelm Southside by a score of 71-32.

The Bears (11-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Tuloso-Midway (Corpus Christi, TX). The Warriors & Cherokees come into the non-league challenge with a 2-7 record. In their last challenge, Tuloso-Midway trounced Rice Consolidated (Altair, TX), 61-59, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals battle the South San Antonio Bobcats (San Antonio, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 28 challenge, on Friday, December 13. Southside will attempt to improve on its 1-11 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 9-5 record after their 39-30 league loss to Jay (San Antonio, TX).
