The Northwest Rankin Cougars basketball team scored 43 points and limited the visiting Morton Panthers to 40 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cougars now possess a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Florence for a non-league game on Saturday, December 14. Northwest Rankin will play a Falcons team coming off a 64-59 league loss to Bob Jones (Madison, AL). The Falcons record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, Morton falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS) to play the Trojans in a non-league game on Thursday, December 12. The Trojans go into the game with a record of 7-4. Northeast Lauderdale won 86-85 in their recent non-league game against Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, MS)
