The Mustangs (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Riley County (Riley, KS). The Falcons come into the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Riley County prevailed over Concordia (Concordia, KS), 48-17, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Linn Bulldogs (Linn, KS) in a Twin Valley challenge, on Friday, January 10. Axtell will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record.
