North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central thwarts McDowell

December 10, 2024: Marion, NC 28752

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), observed Alexander Central's basketball team knock off McDowell by a score of 51-42.

The Cougars (4-0) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Indians come into the non-league challenge with a 3-2 record. In their last challenge, St. Stephens was knocked off by Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC), 29-23, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Titans clash with the East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC) in a non-league outing, on Wednesday, December 11. McDowell will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Cavaliers come into the outing with a 1-2 record after their 22-14 non-league loss to Newton-Conover (Newton, NC).
