Covenant Christian Eagles (Tuscumbia, AL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Colbert County Indians (Leighton, AL), 53-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Covenant Christian upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Deshler (Tuscumbia, AL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 17. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 5-3.

Next up, the Indians play the Sheffield Bulldogs (Sheffield, AL) in a 2A Area 16 bout, on Tuesday, December 14. Colbert County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record.
