Minnesota High School Basketball - McGregor nips Cherry

December 11, 2023: McGregor, MN 55760

McGregor Mercuries (McGregor, MN) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Cherry Tigers (Iron, MN), 72-67 in a league bout.

With the win, McGregor upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Mercuries travel to South Ridge (Culver, MN) to play the Panthers in a A Section 7 bout on Thursday, December 14. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 3-0. South Ridge won 76-34 in their recent non-league bout against Two Harbors (Two Harbors, MN)

Next up, the Tigers play the Barnum Bombers (Barnum, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Cherry will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Bombers go into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 89-36 non-league loss to Cromwell (Cromwell, MN).
