In Monday's non-league outing, the Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL), by a count of 52-23.
The Coalers (9-1) will now prepare for their outing against Herscher (Herscher, IL). The Tigers go into the Illinois Central 8 outing with a 6-10 record. In their last outing, Herscher smashed Wilmington (Wilmington, IL), 33-21, in a non-league outing.
The Hawks now hold a 1-10 record. They play next when they host St. Thomas More for a Illini Prairie outing on Thursday, December 14. Prairie Central will clash with a Sabers squad coming off a 45-34 non-league loss to Tuscola (Tuscola, IL). The Sabers record now stands at 3-4.
