In Monday's non-league outing, the Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL) basketball squad edged the host Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), by a count of 49-42.
The Cardinals (8-5) will now prepare for their outing against Olympia (Stanford, IL). The Spartans go into the Sangamo outing with a 8-2 record. In their last outing, Olympia held off Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL), 48-29, in a non-league outing.
