La Feria Lions (La Feria, TX) backers were thrilled Thursday as they saw their basketball team topple the visiting IDEA Edinburg College Prep (Edinburg, TX), 44-29 in a non-league game.

The Lions now have a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to La Joya for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 16. La Feria will confront a Coyotes team coming off a 66-52 non-league loss to McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX). The Coyotes record now stands at 5-10.

With the loss, IDEA Edinburg College Prep falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The travel to Economedes (Edinburg, TX) to face the Jaguars in a non-league outing on Thursday, December 11. The Jaguars enter the outing with a record of 9-7. Economedes won 49-36 in their recent non-league outing against Donna (Donna, TX)
