In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] Wolverines basketball team scored a big 102-21 triumph over the Mesabi East Giants.
The Wolverines (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against St. Thomas Academy (Mendota Heights, MN). The Cadets go into the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, St. Thomas Academy was trounced by St. Paul Central (St. Paul, MN), 78-68, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Giants confront the Ely Timberwolves (Ely, MN) in a non-league match, on Friday, December 12. Mesabi East will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Timberwolves enter the match with a 2-0 record after their 100-40 non-league win over Floodwood (Floodwood, MN).
