The Rogers Vikings (Newport, RI) basketball edged the visiting Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI), 43-41 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Vikings now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Providence for a Division II test on Tuesday, December 16. Rogers will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 57-56 league loss to East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI). The Cougars record now stands at 0-1.

The Crusaders (0-1) will now prepare for their test against South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI). The Rebels come into the non-league test with a 0-0 record.
