In Thursday's non-league test, the Slaton Tigers (Slaton, TX) basketball squad trounced the host River Road Wildcats (Amarillo, TX), by a tally of 71-27.

The Tigers now possess a 7-4 record. They play next when they travel to Dimmitt for a 3A Region I District 2 bout on Tuesday, December 16. Slaton will play a Bobcats team coming off a 57-43 non-league loss to Lamesa (Lamesa, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, River Road falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Midland Christian (Midland, TX) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 12. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 13-3. Midland Christian won 66-61 in their recent non-league bout against Slaton (Slaton, TX)
