Leonard Tigers (Leonard, TX) backers went home thrilled Thursday as they saw their basketball team thwart the host Avery Bulldogs (Avery, TX), 44-28 in a non-league contest.

The Tigers (9-7) will now prepare for their contest against Saltillo (Saltillo, TX). The Lions go into the non-league contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, Saltillo notched a victory over Avery (Avery, TX), 51-2, in a non-league match.

The Bulldogs now own a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clarksville for a non-league match on Friday, December 12. Avery will face a Tigers squad coming off a 70-43 non-league win over Hughes Springs (Hughes Springs, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 9-8.
