The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Blackwell Hornets (Blackwell, TX) and the visiting Sterling City Eagles (Sterling City, TX), observed Blackwell's basketball team edge Sterling City by a margin of 44-43.
The Hornets (15-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Eden (Eden, TX). The Bulldogs come into the non-league match with a 2-4 record. In their last match, Eden tipped Panther Creek (Valera, TX), 35-14, in a league match.
The Eagles now own a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Baird for a non-league match on Friday, December 12. Sterling City will face a Bears squad coming off a 38-26 non-league win over Roby (Roby, TX). The Bears record now stands at 9-5.
