Varsity Opponent (, ) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Avant Garde Academy Sharks (Hollywood, FL), 34-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Varsity Opponent upgrades its record to 45-137 on the season. The travel to Bethel Christian Academy (Spruce Pine, NC) to clash with the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Monday, December 12. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Bethel Christian Academy won 33-12 in their recent non-league bout against Heritage Christian (Hudson, NC)

Next up, the Sharks clash with the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda (Aventura, FL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 14. Avant Garde Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Barracuda go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 75-2 non-league loss to Horeb Christian (Hialeah, FL).
