The Meridian Mustangs (Falls Church, VA) basketball nipped the visiting McLean Highlanders (McLean, VA), 42-38 in Monday's non-league test.
The Mustangs (6-0) will now prepare for their test against Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA). The Trailblazers go into the non-league test with a 5-1 record. In their last test, Spotswood got by Waynesboro (Waynesboro, VA), 80-27, in a non-league test.
The Highlanders now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they host George C. Marshall for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 13. McLean will encounter a Statesmen squad coming off a 59-53 non-league loss to Mount Vernon (Alexandria, VA). The Statesmen record now stands at 1-4.
