Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Esperanza Aztecs (Anaheim, CA) and the visiting Downey Vikings (Downey, CA), saw Esperanza's basketball squad hold off Downey by a tally of 49-46.

With the victory, Esperanza improves its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Aztecs travel to Villa Park (Villa Park, CA) to confront the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 3-1.

Next up, the Vikings confront the Whitney Wildcats (Cerritos, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 13. Downey will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record.
