Summerville Bears (Tuolumne, CA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Golden Valley Cougars (Merced, CA), 53-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Summerville upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Bears travel to Hilmar (Hilmar, CA) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 17. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 7-2. Hilmar won 39-22 in their recent non-league bout against Orestimba (Newman, CA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Oakdale Mustangs (Oakdale, CA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Golden Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 47-37 non-league loss to Tokay (Lodi, CA).
