The Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA) basketball crushed the visiting Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks (Hartley, IA), 66-20 in Tuesday's league test.

The Westerners (4-2) will now prepare for their test against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union (Marcus, IA). The Royals go into the War Eagle test with a 2-2 record. In their last test, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union was trounced by Hinton (Hinton, IA), 47-43, in a league test.

The Hawks now own a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to Gehlen Catholic for a War Eagle test on Friday, December 15. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn will encounter a Jays squad coming off a 59-48 league win over Harris-Lake Park (Lake Park, IA). The Jays record now stands at 3-3.
