Brookesmith Mustangs (Brookesmith, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Rising Star Wildcats (Rising Star, TX), 54-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Brookesmith upgrades its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Moran (Moran, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 15. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 4-5. Moran lost 38-37 in their recent non-league bout against Rotan (Rotan, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Cherokee Indians (Cherokee, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 14. Rising Star will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 38-24 non-league win over Bangs (Bangs, TX).
