    Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Buckeye Local Panthers (Rayland, OH), 73-38 in a league bout.

    With the victory, Martins Ferry upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Purple Riders travel to Shadyside (Shadyside, OH) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 1-3.

    Next up, the Panthers play the Marietta Tigers (Marietta, OH) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 15. Buckeye Local will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 3-0 record after their 53-45 non-league win over Gallia Academy (Gallipolis, OH).
