    The Burton Panthers (Burton, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Weimar Wildcats (Weimar, TX), 44-43 in Tuesday's non-league test.

    The Panthers (5-6) will now prepare for their test against Brazos (Wallis, TX). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 5-7 record. In their last test, Brazos was tipped by Houston Math Science & Tech (Houston, TX), 44-35, in a non-league test.

    The Wildcats now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Flatonia for a 2A Region IV District 28 test on Friday, December 15. Weimar will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 73-57 non-league win over Waelder (Waelder, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-6.
