Metro Academy Mavericks (Shawnee Mission, KS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Butler Bears (Butler, MO), 63-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Metro Academy upgrades its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to St. Michael the Archangel (Lee's Summit, MO) to play the Guardians in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 14. The Guardians come into the bout with a record of 3-0. St. Michael the Archangel won 61-41 in their recent non-league bout against Nevada (Nevada, MO)

Next up, the Bears play the Adrian Blackhawks (Adrian, MO) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. Butler will attempt to upgrade on its 5-2 season record.
