Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Carterville Lions (Carterville, IL), 57-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pinckneyville upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Panthers travel to DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL) to play the Indians in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi bout on Friday, December 15. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 1-4. DuQuoin lost 70-47 in their recent league bout against Benton (Benton, IL)

Next up, the Lions play the Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 15. Carterville will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Blackcats go into the bout with a 7-1 record after their 67-56 non-league win over Meridian (Mounds, IL).
