Franklin Regional Panthers (Murrysville, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA), 60-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Franklin Regional upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The Panthers host Butler (Butler, PA) to play the Golden Tornado in a non-league bout on Friday, December 15. The Golden Tornado go into the bout with a record of 2-1. Butler lost 73-71 in their recent non-league bout against North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Connellsville Falcons (Connellsville, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 16. Hempfield Area will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
