North Carolina High School Basketball - Hickory Grove Christian nips Union Academy

December 12, 2023: Charlotte, NC 28215

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Hickory Grove Christian Lions (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC), saw Hickory Grove Christian's basketball squad hold off Union Academy by a tally of 77-70.

With the victory, Hickory Grove Christian improves its record to 4-6 on the campaign. The Lions host Westminster Catawba Christian (Rock Hill, SC) to play the Indians in a NCISAA Metrolina challenge on Friday, December 15. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 6-4. Westminster Catawba Christian lost 48-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Davidson Day (Davidson, NC)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 15. Union Academy will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Wolf Pack come into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 70-56 non-league loss to Weddington (Matthews, NC).
