Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR) and the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), saw Walnut Ridge's basketball squad knock off Newport by a tally of 75-58.

With the victory, Walnut Ridge improves its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Hoxie (Hoxie, AR) to play the Mustangs in a 3A Region 2 challenge on Friday, December 15. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 3-3. Hoxie won 56-46 in their recent league challenge against Salem (Salem, AR)

Next up, the Greyhounds play the Cave City Cavemen (Cave City, AR) in a 3A Region 2 challenge, on Friday, December 15. Newport will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Cavemen come into the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 74-46 league loss to Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR).
