Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Pelahatchie Chiefs (Pelahatchie, MS), 71-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pearl upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Pirates host Brandon (Brandon, MS) to play the Bulldogs in a 7A Region 3 bout on Friday, December 15. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 7-5. Brandon won 57-52 in their recent league bout against Petal (Petal, MS)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Richland Rangers (Richland, MS) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 14. Pelahatchie will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record.
