The Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets basketball team scored 40 points and restricted the visiting Ascension Christian to 32 in the Hornets non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Hornets now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Martin's Episcopal for a non-league contest on Friday, December 15. Catholic of Pointe Coupee will battle a Saints team coming off a 52-30 non-league loss to Pope John Paul II (Slidell, LA). The Saints record now stands at 3-1.

The (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Central Private (Baker, LA). The Redhawks come into the non-league contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, Central Private prevailed over Northeast (Pride, LA), 43-33, in a non-league contest.
