The Morton Panthers (Morton, MS) basketball nipped the host Florence Eagles (Florence, MS), 40-38 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Panthers (9-0) will now prepare for their test against Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Trojans go into the non-league test with a 5-4 record.

The Eagles now own a 10-4 record. They play next when they travel to Vicksburg for a non-league test on Friday, December 15. Florence will encounter a Gators squad coming off a 66-59 non-league loss to Clinton (Clinton, MS). The Gators record now stands at 3-11.
