Jackson Prep Patriots (Jackson, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets (Amite, LA), 45-17 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Jackson Prep upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, December 15. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 12-6. Simpson Academy won 52-51 in their recent league bout against Lamar (Meridian, MS)

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Brookhaven Academy Cougars (Brookhaven, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 3 bout, on Friday, January 5. Oak Forest Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record.
