North Carolina High School Basketball - McDowell succumbs to Avery County

The Avery County Vikings topped the visiting McDowell Titans basketball team by a final score of 53-40 in Tuesday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Vikings face the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, December 19. Avery County will attempt to move on its 4-1 season record. The Wildcats enter the game with a 3-2 record after their 28-26 non-league loss to East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC).

With the defeat, McDowell moves to 2-1 on the year. The Titans travel to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to face the Spartans in a non-league game on Tuesday, December 19. The Spartans enter the game with a record of 1-5.
