IMG Academy Ascenders (Bradenton, FL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans (Riverview, FL), 52-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, IMG Academy upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Ascenders host Tampa Catholic (Tampa, FL) to clash with the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Crusaders go into the challenge with a record of 0-2.

Next up, the Spartans confront the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons (Bradenton, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 15. Winthrop College Prep Academy will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 39-31 non-league win over Out-of-Door Academy (Sarasota, FL).
