The Elk City Elks basketball team scored 33 points and limited the visiting Perryton Rangers to 32 in the Elks non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Elks now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Liberal for a non-league game on Friday, December 13. Elk City will play a Redskins team coming off a 70-34 league loss to Hays (Hays, KS). The Redskins record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Perryton falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Rangers host Canyon (Canyon, TX) to play the Eagles in a 4A Region I District 4 game on Tuesday, December 17. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 6-7. Canyon lost 44-29 in their recent non-league game against Liberty (Lubbock, TX)
