In Thursday's league contest, the visiting Gillespie Miners basketball team scored a good 55-41 win over the Litchfield Purple Panthers.

The Miners (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Southwestern (Piasa, IL). The Piasa Birds come into the South Central contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Southwestern was topped by North Mac (Virden, IL), 32-25, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Purple Panthers battle the Lincolnwood Lancers (Raymond, IL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 14. Litchfield will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record. The Lancers come into the contest with a 1-8 record after their 48-32 league loss to New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL).
