In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Elkhart Elks basketball team scored a good 42-29 win over the Slocum Mustangs.
The Elks (4-9) will now prepare for their contest against Elysian Fields (Elysian Fields, TX). The Yellowjackets enter the non-league match with a 4-1 record. In their last match, Elysian Fields lost by Arp (Arp, TX), 52-50, in a non-league match.
The Mustangs now own a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Martinsville for a non-league match on Friday, December 12. Slocum will face a Pirates team coming off a 69-25 non-league loss to Cushing (Cushing, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 1-8.
