    Farwell Steers (Farwell, TX) backers were thrilled Friday as they saw their basketball team tip the visiting Roosevelt Eagles (Lubbock, TX), 55-48 in a non-league game.

    The Steers now have a 6-1 record. They play next when they host Morton for a non-league game on Saturday, December 13. Farwell will confront a Indians team coming off a 62-34 non-league win over Roosevelt (Lubbock, TX). The Indians record now stands at 1-6.

    With the loss, Roosevelt falls to 5-6 on the year. The Eagles travel to Idalou (Idalou, TX) to face the Wildcats in a 3A Region I District 2 outing on Tuesday, December 16. The Wildcats enter the outing with a record of 4-7. Idalou lost 41-40 in their recent non-league outing against Pampa (Pampa, TX)
