Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Laredo LBJ Wolves (Laredo, TX), 66-45 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Vela advances its record to 10-8 on the year. The Sabercats travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX) to battle the Wolverines in a 5A Region IV District 31 contest on Tuesday, December 16. The Wolverines go into the contest with a record of 2-11. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial lost 58-33 in their recent non-league contest against Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX)

In their next game, the Wolves battle the King Mustangs (Corpus Christi, TX) in a non-league contest, on Friday, December 12. Laredo LBJ will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Mustangs enter the match with a 5-13 record after their 60-54 non-league win over La Villa (La Villa, TX).
