Washington High School Basketball - Mercer Island routs Newport - Bellevue

December 12, 2025: Mercer Island, WA 98040

In Friday's non-league contest, the host Mercer Island Islanders basketball team scored a big 62-39 triumph over the Newport - Bellevue Knights.

The Islanders (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Interlake (Bellevue, WA). The Saints go into the 3A KingCo - Other contest with a 3-2 record. In their last match, Interlake was overwhelmed by Bothell (Bothell, WA), 93-63, in a non-league match.

The Knights now sport a 1-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Juanita for a 4A KingCo match on Monday, December 15. Newport - Bellevue will face a Ravens squad coming off a 64-51 league loss to Hazen (Renton, WA). The Ravens record now stands at 0-6.
