In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers basketball team scored a close 66-61 triumph over the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds.

The Chargers (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Blue Earth (Blue Earth, MN). The Buccaneers go into the AA Section 2 contest with a 0-4 record. In their last contest, Blue Earth was tipped by Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, MN), 70-51, in a league contest.

Next up, the Greyhounds face the Lester Prairie Bulldogs (Lester Prairie, MN) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, December 16. New Ulm Cathedral will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 85-45 non-league loss to Cedar Mountain (Morgan, MN).
