Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs (White Plains, MD) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Lackey Chargers (Indian Head, MD), 72-71 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Southern Maryland Christian Academy betters its record to 1-0 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Evergreen Christian (Leesburg, VA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league contest on Saturday, January 3. The Eagles come into the contest with a record of 3-3.

In their next game, the Chargers battle the DuVal Tigers (Lanham, MD) in a non-league contest, on Friday, December 19. Lackey will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record.
