Amherst Bulldogs (Amherst, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Friona Chieftans (Friona, TX), 43-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amherst upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Hart (Hart, TX) to clash with the Longhorns in a non-league bout on Friday, December 16. The Longhorns go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Hart won 66-64 in their recent non-league bout against Cotton Center (Cotton Center, TX)

Next up, the Chieftans clash with the Ralls Jackrabbits (Ralls, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. Friona will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Jackrabbits go into the bout with a 2-9 record after their 75-24 non-league loss to Abernathy (Abernathy, TX).
