The Merkel Badgers basketball team scored 44 points and restricted the host Anson Tigers to 26 in the Badgers non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Badgers now sport a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Midland for a non-league contest on Friday, December 16. Merkel will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 100-49 non-league win over Lubbock (Lubbock, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-4.

The Tigers (5-7) will now prepare for their contest against Gordon (Gordon, TX). The Longhorns come into the non-league contest with a 6-2 record.
