Betsy Layne Bobcats (Betsy Layne, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY), 55-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Betsy Layne upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Bobcats host Floyd Central (Eastern, KY) to play the Jaguars in a District 58 bout on Friday, December 16. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Floyd Central won 61-47 in their recent league bout against Prestonsburg (Prestonsburg, KY)

Next up, the Golden Eagles play the East Ridge Warriors (Lick Creek, KY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 15. Johnson Central will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 87-73 non-league win over Phelps (Phelps, KY).
