Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Union Area holds off Blackhawk

December 13, 2022: New Castle, PA 16101

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) and the visiting Blackhawk Cougars (Beaver Falls, PA), saw Union Area's basketball squad hold off Blackhawk by a tally of 67-64.

With the victory, Union Area improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Scotties travel to Avonworth (Pittsburgh, PA) to confront the Antelopes in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 20. The Antelopes come into the challenge with a record of 3-3.

Next up, the Cougars confront the Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA) in a WPIAL 4A 2 challenge, on Friday, December 16. Blackhawk will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 38-37 non-league loss to New Brighton (New Brighton, PA).
