Oelwein Huskies (Oelwein, IA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA), 63-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Oelwein upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Columbus (Waterloo, IA) to play the Sailors in a North Iowa Cedar - East bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Sailors come into the bout with a record of 1-4. Columbus lost 64-44 in their recent league bout against Denver (Denver, IA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves (Winfield, IA) in a SEI - North bout, on Friday, December 16. Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Wolves come into the bout with a 6-1 record after their 59-56 league win over Hillcrest Academy (Kalona, IA).
