French Settlement Lions (French Settlement, LA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Phoenix Spartans (Braithwaite, LA), 56-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, French Settlement upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Lions travel to Mentorship Academy (Baton Rouge, LA) to play the Sharks in a non-league bout on Friday, December 16. The Sharks go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Mentorship Academy won 50-37 in their recent league bout against Glen Oaks (Baton Rouge, LA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Cox Cougars (Harvey, LA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 14. Phoenix will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 65-60 non-league win over Abramson (New Orleans, LA).
