The Hughes Springs Mustangs basketball team scored 52 points and held the visiting Ore City Rebels to 27 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Big Sandy for a non-league contest on Friday, December 16. Hughes Springs will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 44-31 non-league loss to Alba-Golden (Alba, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-6.

The Rebels (1-5) will now prepare for their contest against Big Sandy (Big Sandy, TX). The Wildcats enter the 2A Region III District 21 contest with a 0-6 record.
